I'm Leigh Farmer, a communicator who believes the true reward for hard work should be to watch others elevate their lives.  The services that non-profits provide are the life-blood of our communities.  Its dollars should be spent (however stretched they are) on providing assistance to the communities they serve.  The goal of non-profit communication should always be to enhance visibility, but more than that, to elevate reputation.

I have 20 years of community experience that includes nearly a decade as a television journalist before becoming the spokesperson for a medium-sized public school system.  Additionally, I've held the role of communications manager for the premier provider of public behavioral health services in Central Virginia.

Of course, my biggest accomplishment to date is being a wife and mother.  When I'm not writing press releases or strategic plans, you can catch me enjoying the James River, Richmond's trails and an occasional glass of something local and delicious.
